🔍2025 Seoul Family Report Highlights🔎
: Chapter 1 [Supporting Families]

What do Seoul families think, and how do they behave?

We've picked out just the highlights
so you can quickly get a glimpse of
the 2025 Seoul Family Report:)

Respondents who had received parent education and coaching
were asked where they primarily received their training,
and how satisfied they were with it.

.
Schools, support centers for childcare, and family centers
were the most common places where people received parent education and coaching.

More than half(57.1%) of those
who had received parent education and coaching
reported that they were satisfied with the programs.

What parenting topics do Seoul families care about most?
We asked this question to Seoul residents raising under 19.
According to the 2025 Seoul Family Report, the top three were:

Understanding Child Developmental Characteristics
topped the list with an average importance score of 4.2 out of 5, followed closely by
Shared Parenting by Mothers and Fathers (4.1 out of 5)
and Effective Communication and Conflict Management (4.0 out of 5).

While many parenting topics were rated highly in importance,
fulfillment didn't always keep up.
The biggest gaps were seen in
Effective Sex Education (0.9-point gap)
and Self-Care as a Parent (0.7-point gap)

⚠️In fact, across every topic, fulfillment fell short of what parents felt was important.

In summary, Seoul citizens identified "Effective Sex Education"
as the top parenting education topic they felt was most needed
yet many reported they were not adequately fulfilling it in practice.

In other words, while parents recognize its importance,
it is simply not happening enough in real life!

This is why programs that strengthen parents' capacity
to deliver effective sex education to their children
at home are so essential! 😊

For example, educational programs that guide parents
on age-appropriate sex education methods, or practical resources
that help families open up natural conversations
about the topic at home, could be a great place to start.
